You may qualify for federal, state or local income-eligible payment assistance programs to help you pay your bill.
Natural Gas: If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, have carbon monoxide symptoms or have some other gas emergency situation, go outside and call 911 and thenour emergency number 1-800-634-3524.
Electric: For any electric emergency including a power outage or other electric-related situation, please call 1-800-464-7726. If you see a downed power line, stay away and immediately call 911 and then our emergency number.
We know there are times when it may be difficult for you to pay your bill. We offer options to help you get back on track.

Did you receive a termination notice? Do you need to schedule a time to have your service turned back on?
You can help pay the NIPSCO bill for a friend, neighbor or loved one.
We offer a number of programs to help you lower your bills and save the environment.
We can delay shut off for up to 10 days if a licensed physician or public health official states that shut off would be a serious and immediate threat to the health or safety of a designated person in your household. This can be continued for one additional 10-day period if we receive another medical statement during a 12-month period.

If you’re caring for someone who lives alone or deals with chronic illness, you can sign up for bill alerts for their account. You’ll be notified when their account is in danger of being shut off for non-payment. Signing up for this service requires authorization from both parties.
To request this service, both parties should complete and sign our third-party notification form and fax it to 1-866-248-7296.
