On May 8, 2024, the EPA released the final Coal Combustion Residuals (“CCR”) Legacy Rule. This Rule regulates historic areas of CCR disposal and management under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Subtitle D. The Rule contains various compliance requirements, including groundwater monitoring, reporting, record keeping, and posting related information to a company-operated CCR compliance website. The Rule also establishes requirements related to legacy CCR management, impoundments, landfills, and storage. This webpage and the posted documents have been developed and maintained in order to comply with the CCR Legacy Rule.
