Work efficiency into your new building plan
This program offers financial incentives to encourage building owners, designers and architects to exceed standard building practices and achieve efficiency that exceeds the current statewide building code requirements or industry-accepted baselines. The goal is to produce newly constructed and expanded buildings that are among the most efficient in the nation.
Incentives are calculated based on the estimated reduction in kilowatt hours (kWh) and/or therms resulting from implementing the energy efficiency project.
- $0.10/kWh for electric lighting projects
- $0.12/kWh for electric non-lighting projects
- $1.00/therm for natural gas projects
What type of projects qualify?
Eligible projects include new building projects where no structure or site footprint presently exists, an addition or expansion of an existing building, or a gut rehab for a change of purpose requiring replacement of electrical systems/equipment. Projects require pre-approval before purchasing and installing energy equipment to receive incentives.
All projects must be completed by November 16, 2024 to be eligible for current 2024 incentives. Projects submitted after this date are subject to 2025 incentives and requirements.
