Since April 1, 1999 all NIPSCO gas customers have the opportunity to participate in the NIPSCO Choice Program.

NIPSCO Choice is a program that gives NIPSCO natural gas customers the opportunity to choose their natural gas supplier.

NIPSCO Choice is your opportunity to:

Save money on your natural gas bill, purchase new products and services and take control of your energy costs.

Purchase natural gas from one of several competing gas suppliers.

Receive the same high quality service you've come to expect from NIPSCO.

Continue to receive delivery of your natural gas through the current NIPSCO distribution system.

Beginning May 1, 2006, NIPSCO Choice customers will see an Interstate Pipeline Demand Cost on their monthly gas bill listed as a separate line item under the delivery charges. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission approved the charge to recover a portion of the cost NIPSCO incurs to maintain a reliable supply of natural gas for Choice customers in the event customers would leave the Choice program and return to NIPSCO. Neither NIPSCO nor the marketers profit from this charge. NIPSCO will review the amount of the Interstate Pipeline Demand Cost annually and may adjust it each November 1, based on the number of customers participating in the Choice program.
