Grant recipients will be announced the week of November 25, 2024
- Grants available for $500 to $5,000 for organizations seeking funds for public safety education and first responder training programs
- Preferred programs would promote public safety education and training. Areas could include, but not limited to, areas of damage prevention, police and fire departments, carbon monoxide safety, and youth related safety education.
- Programs and initiative should benefit NIPSCO service area and customers
- Grant funding is not intended for purchase of equipment other than needed to support public safety education programs and training
- Safety education programs where employee volunteerism is available is a plus
Items to be included in the online grant application (web page):
- Defined project goals
- Defined alignment with project and community priorities
- Detailed project description including amount requested, scope of project and community impact
- Overview of how support will be recognized (press release, social media, website etc) and how it will benefit your organization
- Attach project budget, board of directors, other project contributors and W9
The NIPSCO Safety Grant Committee evaluates requests on the following areas:
Alignment with community needs, community visibility of projects/programs, value of projects/programs to community served, and capital investment requested.

About NIPSCO’s Public Safety Education and Training Action Grant
Introduced in 2018, NIPSCO’s Public Safety Education and Training Action Grant aims to provide funding for community and youth public safety education programming and training for first responders.
